Overview

Navitas is ready to invest in you!  We are seeking a Senior Program Manager in Ann Arbor, Michigan that will be responsible for driving project planning, execution, financial performance, and production plans.  These responsibilities exist throughout the program lifecycle from initial idea through development, launch, ongoing operations, and expansion of the project.  A strong candidate should be highly analytical and focused, and have a keen insight into human behavior and motivational forces. The Senior Program Manager oversees all aspects of projects, tracks execution to deadlines and resource allocations, and monitors and summarizes progress of project.  In addition to driving Program Management leadership, the Senior Program Manager will develop best practices, provide guidance to other PMs, and may have direct reports to manage.  Senior Program Managers are part of the staff management team and will be expected to train, retain, and develop their direct reports.

 

Estimated salary range: $140,000 - $160,000

 

Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and training.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop costs, and execute complex projects involving cross functional resources to deliver a robust financial return to the company.
  • Work closely with customers and stakeholders to define project deliverable requirements that satisfy both external and internal goals.
  • Actively lead problem solving, conflict resolution, and solution development to meet project milestones, with the goal of exceeding expectations for performance, quality, and timing.
  • Drive open issues to closure through a robust plan, do, check loop.
  • Effectively manage and communicate project tasks and commitments with project team members.
  • Proactively manage scope, identify potential risks, develop, and promote contingency plans.
  • Conduct regular status and coordination meetings both internally and with customers.
  • Track program revenue and cost actuals to budget and compile monthly reports for review.
  • Provide all external customer contractual reports on time and to specifications.
  • Support sales team on proposal development for new projects.
  • Be actively involved in optimizing and improving company work process and methodologies.
  • Performs in a manner that will prevent errors and omissions.
  • Provides advisory support and assistance to the department manager as needed.
  • Responsible for meeting team targets and key performance indicators.
  • Participate in activities needed to support the management functions of the team.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and operate in a safe manner.
  • Physical presence on the job is essential and necessary.
  • If a direct report is assigned: manage according to East Penn and Navitas standards.
  • Provide advisement and direct support to the Department head of PMO in all PMO tools, processes, and workflows.
  • To provide best practice coaching, standards creation, and risk management for PM team.
  • Act as PMO Department Head’s proxy when the Department Head is out of office.
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • 15+ years of work experience in program management or project leadership

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and motivational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal, written, and visual
  • Detail oriented with the ability to effectively persuade through data and analysis
  • Team-based problem-solving experience using structured methods such as 8D and Six Sigma
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Microsoft Project
  • Knowledge of lithium-ion batteries, electronics, or electrical components preferred
  • Government-funded program management experience preferred
  • 3-5 years of direct staff management experience
