Overview

Navitas is ready to invest in you!  We are seeking a Senior Facilities Technician in Ann Arbor, Michigan that will be responsible for ensuring, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining company equipment including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing at all Ann Arbor locations.

 

This position pays between $27.00 and $30.00 per hour

 

Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and training.

Responsibilities

  • Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures
  • Involved in the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and facilities.
  • Performs routine maintenance on machinery or building structures including plumbing
  • May work on electrical wiring
  • Maintain building HVAC equipment
  • Maintain outside structures such as sidewalks, windows, etc.
  • Repair potential safety hazards
  • Executes modifications on equipment.
  • Ensures that all safety precautions are followed with contractors.
  • Assists with property inspections
  • Participates in the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services, and facility expansion. Inspects construction and installation progress.
  • Responsible for preventive maintenance of facility equipment, including HVAC and laboratory Dehumidification and air purification equipment.
  • Performs in a manner that will prevent errors and omissions.
  • Provides advisory support and assistance to the department manager as needed.
  • Responsible for meeting team targets and key performance indicators
  • Participate in activities needed to support the management functions of the team.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and operate in a safe manner
  • Physical presence on the job is essential including weekends and holidays if necessary
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Management Responsibilities: 

  • Scheduling/prioritizing planned and unplanned facilities maintenance
  • Managing company physical/personnel resources to maintain facilities and equipment

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Associates degree or other certification in Construction, Facilities Management or Project Management desired
  • Experience with a wide range of equipment and tools and proficiency in skilled maintenance and repair tasks.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be comfortable supporting US Military-funded work
  • Knowledge of established construction and maintenance practices, procedures and techniques, site planning and applicable local, state and federal building codes.
  • Able to work in a collaborative environment
  • Strong communication skills; thorough and attentive to details; able to prioritize and multitask; proactive and deadline oriented.
  • Able to work effectively with subcontractors and local authorities when needed.

ITAR REQUIREMENTS: To conform to U.S. Government International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) the employee must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
