Overview

Navitas is ready to invest in you! We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern in Ann Arbor, Michigan that will work under the direction of senior staff members to support lithium-ion cell and battery pack production by performing technical tasks in the areas of calibrations, data analysis, data management, and equipment maintenance this winter/spring from approximately January to March.

Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing DOE testing and data collection
  • Support troubleshooting of automated production assembly equipment
  • Support calibration of electrical cell formation equipment
  • Work with manufacturing engineering to implement approved process changes
  • Assist in process optimization studies
  • Write and help maintain operator work instructions
  • Ensure daily 5S of work area (maintain clean and organized work areas)
  • Assist in management and analysis of production data (test data, machine logs, yield data, etc..)
  • Follow all company policies regarding safety, quality, and conduct
  • Physical presence on the job is essential and necessary
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Working toward engineering-related degree

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Candidates must be comfortable supporting US military-funded work and building products for US and ally military testing and use.
  • MS office suite skills for data management and analysis (MS Excel)
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to lift 40 pound loads several times per day
  • Ability to work in dry room / clean room environment (0 to 2% relative humidity)

 

ITAR REQUIREMENTS: To conform to U.S. Government International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) the individual must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
